Boulder-White Clouds: What's Going On?

Posted by Rick Johnson at Jun 24, 2010 02:45 PM |

We had the Senate hearing for the Boulder-White Clouds, but there are still hurdles.

On June 16, I provided testimony on the Boulder-White Clouds to the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. The hearing was an important step forward.

In the weeks before the hearing, the delegation asked for Gov. Butch Otter's feedback. The governor included a list of concerns—some substantive and some ideological—that led him to oppose the bill.

Idaho's senators are interested in addressing the concerns of the governor. I believe we can resolve many of the governor's substantive concerns.

This detour to the Statehouse will hopefully be short. The attention of the Idaho public will soon fall back where it should be focused - moving a bill forward that embodies the collaborative spirit of Idahoans.
