Boise—Check Your Smart Meter Online!
Idaho Power's smart meters provide up-to-the-minute online reporting and a detailed snapshot of your power use.
Over the summer, Idaho Power installed smart meters on all Boise area homes and businesses. The point? To give folks real-time, detailed information on yearly, monthly, and hourly energy usage. These new smart meters will be installed for all Idaho Power customers by 2011.
I registered online with Idaho Power and can see how much energy my household uses each month and each hour. This information will help me track my energy expenditures and usage to promote energy efficiency in my home. I also signed up for the A/C Cool Credits program while online.
It's pretty cool information to have access to, huh? Get it... cool?
