Conserve Water With Ease
Conserving water is easy and helps create sustainable communities in Idaho.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, we should expect about 500,000 more people living in our great state by 2025. Who can blame them? But this means more people taking showers and using water.
The good news is that it’s easy to save water! Here’s how:
- Water your lawn in the morning or at night; water won’t evaporate as quickly.
- Shorten your shower time (or shower every other day).
- Fix leaky faucets, sinks, toilets, etc.
- Adjust sprinklers so they don’t water sidewalks or road.
- Keep a pitcher of water in the fridge. You won’t turn on the tap so much, plus it will be nice and cold!
- Wait to run the dishwasher or washing machine until you have a full load.
Here are more tips for saving water. The Oregon Environmental Council also has some great waterwise tips that apply throughout the region.
