We use harsh chemicals for household cleaning and other purposes constantly. There's really no need because we have so many earth friendly options. Many citrus fruits, like lemons, possess anti-bacterial and anti-carcinogenic properties that can be put to good use. Here are some uses for lemons around the home and elsewhere.
- Mix equal amounts of water and lemon juice in a spray bottle or atomizer to create a wonderful air freshener
- Clean your microwave. Place a bowl with water and lemon slices in the microwave and heat it for 30 seconds to a minute. This will make it easy to wipe up messes plus old food odors will be gone!
- Squeezing lemon juice onto a minor wound can disinfect it and help stop any bleeding. Also, lemon juice is said to relieve discomfort from bee stings, poison ivy, and itches.
- The next time you’re doing laundry, add a teaspoon of lemon juice into the washer. It will make your clothes smell fresher.
