Did you know you can find locally grown wheat in the Treasure Valley?

Canyon Bounty Farms is one of the many small farm operations off Orchard Road in Nampa. You would never guess that this place, with only a couple of barns and a modest house, was the only organic whole wheat grower in the Treasure Valley.

In June, ICL spent some time with Beth, the farmer, while on a Sustainable Community Connections farm tour. Hearing about Beth's experience growing organic wheat in Nampa and producing her wheat to be food ready was such a treat.

Wheat isn't all she produces. We are talking heirloom tomatoes, plants, corn, red pepper jelly, and much more. You can find her plants at the North End Nursery in Boise, you can buy bread made from her wheat at Le Cafe de Paris in Boise, and you can visit her farm in Nampa.
