In Winco the other day, I noticed the busy supermarket has started to carry cheese made from a family farm right here in Idaho.
Ballard Family Farms produces cheese in Gooding and specializes in homemade, farmstead specialty cheeses.
Wisconsin and California currently dominate the cheese market. But if you add Idaho, New York, and Minnesota, these five states produce 71% of all the cheese in the nation.
It is great to see a large supermarket distributing small farm products in our state.
