Save Water at Work

— filed under:

Learn how to decrease the amount of water your office uses with these easy tips!

Conserving water at the office is not usually at the forefront of anyone’s mind. But heating water alone can account for 9% of total energy costs! No worries though, ICL is here to tell you how you can reduce these costs.

  • Fix leaky faucets and toilets. It’s pretty easy and cheap to do and saves you money.
  • If you work in a small office, consider getting a smaller water heater. A smaller tank reduces how much energy is wasted from standby heat loss.
  • Add aerators to existing water faucets in the office and decrease water consumption by half! They’re available at most hardware stores and are relatively inexpensive and simple to install.
  • If your office has a shower, opt to install a low-flow showerhead. Using a 2.5-gpm showerhead cuts energy and water usage in half, and you won’t notice a difference in water pressure.
