What's For Lunch?

— filed under:

Spice up your lunch routine at work while exploring local foods.

Tired of the same old lunch routine at work? Make things interesting by hosting a local foods potluck in your office!

Here's an idea- have everyone prepare a dish made from ingredients and food within a 100 mile radius of your community. We know life is busy and, depending on the season, it can be hard to buy 100% local. So set a goal of using half of your ingredients from local sources. Stop by your local farmer's market for your ingredients. Another handy resource is this guide to local foods. And don't forget to check out ICL's own compilation of local recipes.

If you feel like going out for lunch, eat at a restaurant that serves local food. Check out the Red Feather Lounge or Bittercreek Ale House, located in downtown Boise, if you haven't already.
