Be An Energy Superhero!

Sign the pledge to reduce your energy use and be an energy superhero!

Captain Kilowatt

The electricity to power an average Idaho home produces 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each month. By using energy wisely, you can reduce your share of air pollution and the need for new power plants in Idaho's wild places.

Take the energy pledge below. Do a few little things to make a big difference.

Energy Pledge

I pledge to do the following to use energy wisely and do my part to protect Idaho's wild places:

  • Replace my furnace filter every other month.
  • Install a programmable thermostat and/or turn down the temperature when I'm gone or sleeping.
  • Have my home evaluated by a professional to make sure that I have enough insulation and air leaks are safely sealed.
  • Switch lights off when I leave the room.
  • Stop vampire power by plugging my TVs, cable boxes, stereos, computers and phone chargers into power strips and turning them off when I'm not using them.
  • Change my light bulbs out for efficient compact fluorescent or LED bulbs.
  • Only buy appliances or electronics labeled with the Energy Star.
  • Look for orange-colored Energy Forward labels.
