ICL has a long history of opposing efforts by the cattle industry to keep information from the public. This bill would keep information about waste generated by cattle operations a secret. We oppose language that would define nutrient management plans and keep information in the plan exempt from being obtained by the public. Information about waste management is a critical piece in protecting the environment and public health.
We successfully worked to have this bill amended. The result is an improved bill but does not address all of the concerns.
