What you can do to support healthy food in Idaho!
We all want food that tastes good, is light on the environment and supports local farmers. You may have heard some of the lingo around healthy local food otherwise known as sustainable agriculture. Our goal is to promote sustainable agriculture while eliminating harmful factory farms.
July is a great month to look for great local produce!
Fresh, healthy local food travels a much shorter distance from the farm to your table. This cuts down on transportation related pollution and packaging. Buying local supports our local economy, preserves local agricultural land and protects the health of our environment.
A recent study conducted in south western Idaho found that by simply purchasing 15% of food from local growers - $165 million goes back into the local economy.

Idaho offers a growing array of great food produced right here in Idaho. There are options for getting healthy food:
- look for seasonal local food and products at your grocery store
- subscription to community supported agriculture (CSA)
- online markets such as Idaho's Bounty or Six Rivers Community Market
