Public Transportation

public transportation

Whether you ride the bus or drive, we all benefit from an effective public transportation system. It keeps cars off the road, reducing traffic for those who choose to drive, and leaving the air cleaner for everyone. Public transportation will be an important part of our future.

Idaho has taken a back seat when it comes to funding public transportation. Idaho is one of only 3 states in the country without dedicated state funding for public transportation.

The Idaho Conservation League is working to promote local option sales tax authority for public transportation. A local option tax would give Idaho communities a tool to create transportation solutions that work for them. After all, a community should be able to tax itself in the event that local voters decide that such a tool is needed to improve transportation choices.
