Protect the Last Herd of Mountain Caribou in the Lower 48!

Mountain caribou are the most endangered mammal in the country. IDFG photo.

We aren't kidding. The last herd of caribou in the lower 48 lives right here in North Idaho, and ICL is working hard to make sure that this amazing animal is around for future generations to enjoy. Sign a petition to protect caribou in the lower 48!

Mountain caribou once roamed as far south as Idaho's Selway River. Today, their range south of the Canadian border is reduced to this one small herd in the Selkirk Mountains of North Idaho.

Mountain caribou were placed on the Endangered Species List in 1984. With only 40 to 50 caribou remaining, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is taking steps to protect habitat deemed critical to their survival and recovery.  You can help out by adding your name to the growing list of individuals that support the caribou habitat plan.
