Brad Smith

North Idaho Director

In addition to overseeing ICL’s northern operations, Brad is responsible for protecting the public lands, fish and wildlife north of the Salmon River.

Brad grew up hiking the mountains of North Idaho where he was fortunate to spot a rare mountain caribou. This transformative experience motivated Brad to study conservation and take up a career in the field. He earned a degree in environmental science from the University of Idaho and later went on to receive a masters of public policy and administration from Boise State University.

Brad’s favorite place in Idaho is the Selkirk Crest, where he enjoys scenic views of large inland waterways and lush green forests. He enjoys hiking, camping, fishing and skiing with his wife and daughter.
