After Hours Sandpoint: Coal Divestment

Did you know that 10% of the electricity many of us pay for in North Idaho comes from the eighth-biggest CO2 polluter in the United States? Join us at Eichardt’s in Sandpoint and learn how you can advocate for a cleaner energy future.

ICL Energy Associate Ben Otto will give an informal presentation on ICL’s recent success in reducing coal dependence in southern Idaho and discuss opportunities to end coal-fired power in North Idaho.

Despite efforts of the Trump administration, significant progress is being made by organizations, companies and individuals to shut down coal plants and move toward a cleaner energy future. Learn how you can act locally to hasten the closure of the Colstrip plant in Montana and reduce tens of millions of metric tons of greenhouse gases being released into our atmosphere annually.

Get some dinner, enjoy a beer and learn how we can make a difference. No RSVP or policy background is required. Just bring your curiosity and appetite for food, drinks and knowledge!
