For the September Tour of the Reserves series, we feature the Mesa Reserve.
Situated near the high-traffic Table Rock area, the Mesa Reserve shares several trails and provides access to open space, views and recreation. It connects to the Ridge to Rivers trails system and Boise Greenbelt in three locations. With almost three miles of trails, this reserve offers fantastic geological features and unique terrain. Join us for a spring hike in the Mesa!
The city of Boise, Foothills Learning Center and ICL offer the exciting yearlong Tour of the Reserves adventure series from September through May to help you get to know your backyard.
Boise’s foothills open space includes 11 reserves. In total, the city manages roughly 4,000 acres and 40 miles of trails within its reserves, all differing in elevation and accessibility. The reserve ecosystems include riparian habitat, grassland and alpine forests, and they are home to creatures large and small.
