Get to know your backyard as the Foothills Learning Center and ICL team up to offer an exciting yearlong adventure series, Tour of the Reserves. This month, we visit the Military Reserve. One of the largest of the city’s reserves, Military Reserve features 12 miles of trails on 734 acres. It includes an off-leash dog park, wooded creeks and an old military cemetery.
The city of Boise’s foothills open space includes 11 reserves. In total, the city manages roughly 4,000 acres and 40 miles of trails within its reserves, all differing in elevation and accessibility. The reserve ecosystems are home to riparian habitat, grassland and alpine forests, and creatures large and small.
Registration is required. Contact Lana to reserve your spot and get information about our meeting place.
