Quench your thirst for knowledge at this month’s Science Pub on air quality! You’ll learn why we have the air quality we have, what can be done during poor air quality days, and what the future holds for Idaho’s air quality.
Idaho’s summers are being overrun by poor air quality due to wildfires in and around our state. But while it’s easy to tell when smoke is affecting our breathing or vision, wildfires aren’t the only culprit polluting our air and impacting our public health. In this science pub, ICL will discuss air pollution from a variety of sources including wildfires, transportation, energy generation and industrial practices.
Join ICL’ s own conservation associate, Austin Hopkins, to learn what you need to know, what you need to do, and what’s next for our state. Of course, you can also enjoy a local craft brew and chat with others in our conservation community.
Based on the Science Cafe model developed in Europe in the 1990s, ICL is pleased to present Science Pub as a fun way to bring educators, scientists, presenters and the public together. Come on out, grab a beer and join in on the informal discussions around scientific topics and environmental issues—like air quality in Idaho. No RSVP or scientific background is required. Just bring your curiosity, sense of humor, and appetite for drinks and knowledge!
