Sun Valley — How Do Snowmaking and Energy Connect?

With 700 snow guns and counting, Sun Valley Resort leads the nation in manmade snowmaking. With all that equipment comes a lot of responsibility — not only for maintenance, but also for effects to the environment.

Join us for an informative evening presentation with Denis Harper, snowmaking manager at Sun Valley Resort and Ben Otto, energy associate with Idaho Conservation League and learn what it takes to make snow, the amount of energy that is used and what Sun Valley is doing to help the power grid. You will also have the opportunity to learn how ICL advocates for energy conservation programs. Saving energy is a win-win for Idaho’s people and environment. Ben will explain why Idaho utilities help customers save energy, how this benefits Idaho’s economy and environment, and what ICL is doing to expand and improve the programs. Along the way you will learn and share easy tips to save energy at home.

Enjoy locally roasted coffee, house-made pastries, craft beer, specialty wine and a full menu throughout the event. No RSVP is required — just come ready to enjoy and learn!
