Senate Bill 1079 establishes an annual fund to support agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs) that support water quality restoration projects across the state. This fund would increase the efficiency of allocating grants to ag producers, irrigation and drainage organizations, soil conservation districts, and other local nonprofits that support BMP implementation. Agricultural BMP projects help restore water quality by reducing the amount of pollutants that flow into impaired rivers and streams.
